CSE examination is slightly different while comparing to other competitive exams. So, the candidates should be aware of the UPSC CSE exam pattern. The CSE exam contains two faces which are preliminary exam and main exam. A candidate should clear the preliminary exam to enter into main exam. The patterns for both the preliminary and main exams are as follows,

Paper A
Candidates can select any one of the Indian languages from the languages that are scheduled on the Eighth constitution. The language papers will be evaluated for 300 marks but that will not be counted in your grand total. The language paper is just for qualifying purpose.
